Summer Term Classes
Week 1: 12th May – Flamenco (Drawing: Pencil, Pastel Pencil) 
This session will focus on capturing the dynamic movement and expressive gestures of flamenco dancers. Students will explore the use of pencil and pastel pencils to create dramatic contrasts, flowing fabrics, and intricate details of traditional flamenco costumes. We will study how posture and gesture convey emotion in dance-inspired artwork. 

Week 2: – 19th May – Mime (Marcel Marceau, Nola Rae – Pastel)
This week, we will examine the art of mime, using pastels to create expressive portraits inspired by famous mime artists such as Marcel Marceau and Nola Rae. Emphasis will be placed on facial expressions, monochromatic tones, and the dramatic use of light and shadow to highlight the performative aspect of mime. 

Week 3: 2nd June – Hot Air Balloons(Watercolour)
A colourful session exploring the movement of hot air balloons drifting through clear and cloudy skies. Students will learn techniques for painting soft, blended skies, as well as how to achieve the effect of light shining through fabric. Composition will also be discussed to create a sense of height and perspective.
