Week 4: 9th June – Summer Still Life (Watercolour) This week focuses on floral still life, capturing the vibrancy of summer flowers using watercolour. Techniques will include wet-on-wet blending for soft petals, dry brush techniques for texture, and composition tips to create balanced arrangements.
Week 5: 16th June – Industrial Buildings (Acrylic) A shift in theme to an urban landscape. We will explore industrial buildings and city structures, working in acrylic to create bold, textured pieces. Techniques such as palette knife work and layering will be introduced to add depth and realism to the paintings.
Week 6: 23rd June – Seaside Still Life (Acrylic) A seaside themed session featuring still life objects such as buckets and spades and animals such as starfish and seahorses. Students will experiment with acrylic painting techniques to depict textures like weathered wood, sand, and water reflections. We will also look at the charm of beach huts and how to capture their bold colours.
